Hey there! I've been on a facebook 'break' for almost 3 weeks now. I honestly never thought I'd make it that long. It was stressing me out in far too many ways and I realized I just needed to take a step back. I am missing sharing pictures of my sweet boy though and I know a few family members who are missing them too. :) So I'm just jumping in and doing this. I don't have the perfect blog name or design, but that's ok! My need for everything to be 'perfect' often times prevents me from even trying so..here we go!

Little guy is SO active these days. I really feel like I need to make some sort of 'lesson plans' for our days. We usually fly by the seat of our pants. This particular morning I decided to make up a batch of playdough. I made some for him probably 5 months ago. At that time, he wasn't really into it. I thought I'd give it another try!
The recipe I used had me mix it in our mixer. I didn't care for this recipe at all! It wasn't setting right, so I switched to the pan and gave Sam the mixer bowl to play with while I finished up. There were a few specks left in there and sure enough my little piglet started eating the playdough. I figured he'd take a bite, realize it tasted awful and spit it back out. It was basically salt and flour. But oh no...he snacked on quite a few bites. He even put the bowl down at one point, walked over to his water cup to take a swig and went right back to the bowl for a few more bites! haha
Once I got the color mixed in (red and green for Christmas of course!) we got to playing. I gave him a few pieces of a straw, biscuit cutters and a christmas tree cookie cutter. After showing him how he could play, he went right to town.
Then he realized how squishy it was and squished for a while.
Please note the crumbs from his 'snack' earlier. ha!
This is fun, mama!
Then he started to pull it apart. Bit by bit. He did this over and over as I gave him hunks of the dough. Definitely his favorite part of the play. He loved to throw the bits across the kitchen. :)
So focused
This is when he attacked me. "Mom...look at this playdough!"
Knocked me on my back!
We had a lot of fun! If you're looking for a good play dough recipe, we really like this one from How Does She.
